Copyright schmopyright... =)

A friend asked me to graffiti her volleyball with Calvin and Hobbes images, since the duo are one of her favorite comic strips.  It's coming along fairly well, I've learned that water based inks do NOT work well on the leather of the ball and picked up a set of colored Sharpies which do the trick quite nicely.

Anyways, since Bill Watterson didn't syndicate his artwork on mugs and calendars and other merchandise, which I respect wholeheartedly, I like to think of this as an homage to his wonderful creation that touched so many people, myself included. (My attempt at justifying my blatant infringement and appeasing the comic gods so they don't strike me down where I stand .  That and I have every single one of his books, plus the collector's edition, so I feel I've paid my dues.)

The first two panels, four more to go.
